After School Matters was named one of Bank of America’s 2024 Neighborhood Builders® for our work supporting Chicago teens!
“We are deeply grateful to Bank of America for their ongoing partnership with After School Matters, which has been essential since our founding. They have invested in Chicago teens year after year by supporting our summer internships,” shared Mary Ellen Caron, CEO of After School Matters.

As a Neighborhood Builder, ASM will receive a $200,000 grant dedicated to supporting more teens, leadership training, and access to a national network of nonprofit peers for collaboration. Now in its 20th year, Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders program continues to invest in nonprofits nationwide and we’re proud to receive this year’s award!
Rita Cook, President of Bank of America Chicago, emphasized the significance of this partnership: “The flexible funding and comprehensive leadership training that are hallmarks of the Neighborhood Builders program will support After School Matters as they continue their vital work. We are proud to support their mission to promote economic advancement for Chicago teens.”

This Neighborhood Builder award and grant will allow us to deepen our impact and support for more teens.
With Bank of America’s commitment, we will continue to pave the way for Chicago’s youth to thrive, succeed, and build brighter futures.
Thank you for supporting our teens!
