Our Staff in Action
Take a look at the photos and quotes below to see why our staff members love working at After School Matters!
Chris Nergaard, Program Manager
After working several jobs in Chicago’s non-profit sector I instantly felt at home working at After School Matters. It is a unique, fast-paced work environment. Programs staff will often split their work between the office and visiting our teen programs in local communities. I believe strongly in our Mission and Vision, helping teens in Chicago tap into their passions and find their future. That’s why I feel my efforts to align and maximize resources for After School Matters programs and teens can make a lasting impact in the communities we serve.
Jessica Burg, Program Quality and Compliance Specialist
I love supporting our end of program celebrations and community events. I’ve met so many talented young people, and I’ve been invited to judge our Culinary Arts program’s cake decorating competition several times! Working here has definitely strengthened my bond with the city of Chicago.
Chuy Rodriguez, Warehouse Operations Coordinator
I enjoy being able to provide assistance to teenagers and resources to instructors for our programs; I enjoy being an advocate of After School Matters by engaging with all types of audiences to share my healthy experiences at work; and I enjoy being able to work with my warehouse team and also with internal and external employees, volunteers, teenagers, and donors.
We invite you to review our job openings and apply through the After School Matters Job Board. Applications submitted via email will not be considered.
