In 2025, After School Matters opened a new teen-centric facility in the Cabrini neighborhood, which will serve up to 1,500 young people annually. Thanks to generous supporters, After School Matters at Orleans was created to inspire teens, encourage exploration and discovery, connect with their peers, and have a safe space to be themselves.
The ASM facility, designed by Eckenhoff Saunders, features three levels with specialty spaces including a theater, gymnasium, state-of-the-art culinary kitchen, art studios, STEM labs, and shared spaces for collaboration, mental health services, and showcasing teen achievements.
It is evident that by investing in our teens as a city, we are supporting the future generation of creative, dedicated, and passionate Chicago residents and leaders.
